St. Louis-Jefferson Solid Waste Management District Recycling Success Stories

The St. Louis – Jefferson Solid Waste Management District is a regional agency that was created in 1993 to assist the public, private and nonprofit sectors in establishing and expanding programs for recycling and waste reduction. The service area includes the City of St. Louis, St. Louis County, Jefferson County and St. Charles County. Funding for this program is provided by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources. Grant Proposals Being Accepted 

The St. Louis-Jefferson Solid Waste Management District is accepting grant proposals for waste reduction, recycling, composting, and education projects in St. Louis City, St. Louis County, Jefferson County, and St. Charles County. Cities, counties, private entities, and not-for-profit organizations are eligible to seek district grant funds. Grant applications packages can be accessed from the district website at www.swmd.net, on October 30th, 2023. Applications are due to the district by 5:00pm on December 22, 2023.
