Bi-State Green Expo Set For Jan 21-23 In Belleville, Illinois

St. Louis area premier green event is happening January 21-23 at the Belle Clair Fairgrounds in Belleville, IL.  Eco-friendly vendors, businesses, and companies will showcase products and services to clientele who are interested in cost-saving and earth-friendly life styles.  With free admission, all attendees can browse, shop, learn, and network while discovering what is available and affordable within the green community.  Bi-State Green Expo will also host free hourly drawings giving a chance for all patrons to win exciting prizes.

Along with exhibitors showcasing ‘green’ home, garden, building, automotive, health and wellness, consulting, and conservation products, Bi-State will offer drop off centers for recycling.  Recyclers will be present Friday through Sunday for drop off of all types of electronics, old Christmas lights, cell phones, batteries, metals, plastics, and paper.

Throughout the day on Saturday, classes will be offered for training and education in solar, wind, geo-thermal, and all forms of conservation.  Consultants will be present to advise homeowners in thermal efficient solutions.  Non-profit agencies will be presenting initiatives that are viable in both the private and governmental sectors.

Children will have their own Kid’s  Zone featuring Chris McBrien -The Magic Storyteller, who will be presenting hourly shows.  There will be special programs offered by The St. Louis Science Center and Mad Science of St. Louis.  On Saturday, Fred Bird from the St. Louis Cardinals will make an appearance.  Along with these prominent local personalities, many special activities including bounce houses and re-cycling training will be available.

A paper re-cycling contest presented by Bi-State Green Expo and sponsored by Beltline Chiropractic and Always Green Recycling is also being held.  Children can collect paper and paper products throughout the holiday season and bring it to the fairgrounds during the Green Expo to be weighed.  Three students with the top poundage will be awarded a cash prize of $300.00 each.  Parents can help their children earn extra spending dollars and help the environment at the same time.  Schools, teachers, and classrooms can also team up for prize money.  The school whose students bring the most paper will win $500.00 and the teacher whose classroom brings the most will also win $500.00.  Parents should be sure to let their child’s school and teacher know about this fun-tastic opportunity.
