Back 2 School Fun!
Noon – 3 pm, Free. Who says going back to school after a long summer off isn’t fun? At Whole Foods Market – Town & Country, we’re ready to celebrate the return of scholastic achievement and success! To do this, we’ll be partnering with KidSmart, who will be talking about their Push for Pencils program which helps area kids to succeed in school. St. Louis Children’s Hospital will also be with us, and they will be decorating and coloring recycled paper bags with our younger shoppers. Our Whole Body and Grocery teams will be getting in on the act to show you what’s new and exciting in the way of back to school items in each of their departments. Diane, our Kids Club Coordinator will be out on the floor with our fabulously fun prize wheel, giving away prizes and samples for kids and parents alike! Update: International Green Construction Code
Several levels of developments in global green building codes will be addressed on August 9 here in St. Louis. All construction industry workers will benefit from the updates.The program is presented by the local chapters of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) and the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE). Dave Bowman, PE, Manager of Codes at the International Code Council (ICC),will provide context and explore relationships with other green construction standards. He will also provide scope and intent of the code and highlight the differences between voluntary and mandatory code adoptions. His objective is to reveal how the new standards affect the practice of design and construction. An overview of technical aspects will also be discussed which will provide designers and builders with insights as to how they might use the International Green Construction Code in the future.
