Continue Care For Maximum Results

By Dr. Paul Hyland

Have you ever wondered why it seems to take a long time to complete the prescribed course of chiropractic care even though you may have been out of pain for a long period of time?

There are normally three stages of care that you will go through during your course of treatment. They are Relief Care, Corrective Care, and Wellness Care.

Relief care provides temporary relief from your symptoms or pain, but does not correct the cause.

Corrective care, on the other hand, takes longer because you are trying to correct the source of the problem. Some considerations in the length of this treatment are the condition and integrity of the patient’s spinal column, the age and physical condition of the patient, and the age and severity of the problem. A complete correction is not always possible for everyone. At Committed to Health Chiropractic Center in Creve Coeur, Dr. Paul Hyland can discuss with you the possibility of a complete correction for your individual case.

Wellness care ensures that the integrity of the spine is being maintained. Just like you see the dentist for regular check-ups, wellness care involves a periodic checkup and adjustments as needed only.

What happens when you discontinue care?

Some people are just concerned about relieving the symptoms, while others know that a complete correction is best for their overall health. The choice is up to you, but you should discuss this with Dr. Hyland so that you know the facts as they pertain to your case.
