Dr. Amy Davis MD
As a practitioner, I don’t see diagnoses — I see people. Each person who comes to my office has a unique genetic blueprint, distinct environmental exposures, personal stress patterns, nutritional history, microbiome composition, toxic burden, and life story. Biochemical individuality recognizes that no two people function exactly the same, even if symptoms look similar on the surface. Individuality dictates individualized care and treatment.
In conventional medicine, two patients with fatigue may receive the same diagnosis and treatment. In functional medicine, I ask deeper questions:
- Is fatigue driven by mitochondrial dysfunction?
- Nutritional deficiencies?
- Thyroid conversion issues?
- Chronic inflammation?
- Gut dysbiosis?
- Food allergies or sensitivities?
- Mold exposure?
- Unresolved emotional trauma affecting the nervous system?
Biochemical individuality reminds me that the same symptom does not equal the same root cause.
Genetics play a role, but genes are not destiny. How those genes express themselves depends on diet, stress, sleep, toxin exposure, movement, relationships, and emotional health. For one person, gluten may trigger autoimmune activation. For another, it may not. One patient thrives on a higher-protein diet; another feels best with more plant-based diversity. One detox pathway may be sluggish, requiring targeted support, while others function efficiently without intervention.
This is why I do not believe in one-size-fits-all protocols.
At Crossing Back to Health, I use comprehensive history-taking, advanced functional lab testing, nutrition and lifestyle evaluations to uncover each patient’s unique biochemical terrain. My goal is to understand how their body is functioning — not just what diagnosis they’ve been given.
When we honor biochemical individuality, we move away from symptom suppression and toward restoration. We stop chasing labels and begin rebuilding resilience. We support the body’s innate ability to heal by addressing root causes specific to that individual.
Biochemical individuality is not just a concept — it is a commitment.
A commitment to listening deeply.
To testing thoughtfully.
To treating precisely.
And to recognizing that true healing begins when care is personalized.
Healing is most powerful when it is collaborative. I believe in partnering with my patients to educate, guide and empower you to take an active role in your health journey. When we honor biochemical individuality, we create a clear, personalized roadmap toward optimal wellness.
If you are ready to move beyond temporary fixes and experience care designed specifically for you, I invite you to visit me at Crossing Back to Health. Let’s work together as partners to restore balance and help you achieve your fullest potential for lifelong health.
We are accepting new patients.
