Adventure Awaits: Gateway Outdoor Expo + Summit Returns This Fall

Picture it: the hum of conversation echoing through the St. Charles Convention Center, the glint of new gear under bright lights, the earthy scent of climbing holds and bike tires. Everywhere you look, people are swapping trail stories, testing the latest gadgets, and planning their next big adventure.

That’s the Gateway Outdoor Expo + Summit, and it’s back November 14-16, 2025, for its biggest year yet.

Now in its eighth edition, Missouri’s premier outdoor gathering isn’t just an event; it’s a weekend celebration of the people, passions, and places that make the outdoors irresistible. “Whether you’re just getting outside for the first time or you’re a lifelong enthusiast, this year’s gathering offers something for everyone — gear, guidance, and the kind of shared energy that will keep you active all year long,” said Brad Kovach, event director and publisher of Terrain Magazine.

Friday kicks things off with the Summit, a day designed for industry pros and changemakers. Expect deep-dive sessions, a keynote speaker who will leave you inspired, and a VIP/vendor party where connections turn into collaborations.

By Saturday morning, the convention center bursts to life with the Expo: aisles of tents, canoes, trail shoes, and tech that beg to be touched, tried, and tested. At the Basecamp stage, local experts share tips on everything from navigating the backcountry to making the outdoors more inclusive. In between, you can scale a climbing wall, ride a mountain bike course, or learn to cast a fly rod — all without leaving the building.

And it’s not just about gear. It’s about connection. The Expo is where you find the running club that meets on Thursdays, the race you didn’t know you needed to train for, or the conservation group working to maintain your favorite trail.

With more than 150 exhibitors, local food and drink, live entertainment, and a contagious spirit of exploration, it’s no wonder last year’s event drew over 6,000 attendees. Best of all? Admission is free.

So mark your calendar, lace up your hiking boots, and bring your curiosity. The Gateway Outdoor Expo + Summit is where Missouri’s outdoor community comes together — and you don’t want to miss what’s waiting just beyond the next booth.
