In 2024, the Sierra Club Missouri Chapter celebrates 52 years of protecting Missouri’s environment. As one of the largest grassroots environmental organizations in the state, the Sierra Club Missouri Chapter aims to protect our environment from harmful pollution and development, justly transition to a clean energy economy, and act for justice in Missouri and beyond.

In the St. Louis region, the Sierra Club Eastern Missouri Group hosts a variety of events throughout the year! We invite you and your loved ones to join us in our mission of exploring, enjoying and protecting our planet.

Get Outdoors: The Eastern Missouri Group offers a wide range of outings to explore Missouri’s beautiful natural environment. Check out sc.org/mo for a complete calendar of day hikes, nature walks, paddling adventures, backpacking, and service outings happening near you.

Educational Events: The Eastern Missouri Group hosts educational and social events throughout the year. Visit sc.org/mo for a full lineup of event details. Upcoming topics include: Celebrating 60 years of the Wilderness Act; the restoration of the East Fork of the Black River; an overview of 2024 ballot issues; and a local Outings Leader’s reflection on a national trail building service trip.

Advocacy: The Missouri Chapter utilizes political action to protect our environment and democracy, advance just climate solutions, and more. We fight for a healthy planet through the courts, on the streets with grassroots engagement, and in the halls where decisions are being made. From joining Sierra Club’s annual lobby day in Jefferson City to knocking doors in your community, there are many ways to get involved in environmental advocacy. Get in touch with us at sc.org/mo-volunteer, and we’ll connect you to our local campaigns, petitions, and other opportunities to make your voice heard.

We hope you’ll join us in working toward a just, equitable, and sustainable future in which all Missourians benefit from a healthy thriving planet and a direct connection to nature.

We hope to see you at an outing, educational event or advocacy event soon!
