On November 15, 2021, Essential Health and Wellness opened our doors to the community for the first time; arising from the ashes of other businesses during the uncertain times of a worldwide pandemic, to serve as a beacon of hope for the community. The therapists at Essential Health and Wellness are dedicated to provide nurturing therapeutic experiences through education, empowerment, and presence to individuals seeking to fill the gaps between the health care system and their health care needs.

Telling the story of Essential Health and Wellness, through my journey.

In the beginning of 2018, I quit my job at a hospital and I quit half way through a master’s degree in healthcare administration. I felt drawn toward a more direct and focused way of supporting my community. I began the massage therapy training program at The Healing Arts Center. During that year, I completed I-ACT (International Association of Colon Hydrotherapy) training to become a certified Colon Hydrotherapist, DONA (Doulas of North America) training to become a birth doula, The Healing Arts Center’s energy medicine master track to become a Reiki Master and Pranic Healing Practitioner, then graduated as a Licensed Massage Therapist. I began my practice at Holistic Fitness.

In April of 2020, just about 2 years into my practice as a holistic health practitioner, we were shutdown as non-essential workers. The owners of Holistic Fitness decided that they would not reopen after the mandated shutdown. A friend and colleague reached out to me and suggested that I open a place for us to practice colon hydrotherapy. With no income and no job and everything to lose, I took a leap of faith and decided to open my own business.

I set out with a modest idea of the space that we needed; a small office with a colonic room, massage room, and maybe one other treatment room. We looked at several places that fit that description, and another that was much bigger than requested. . . the first time I stepped into that space, I could see it filled with practitioners and clients buzzing with delightful conversation and healing energies. Our space has SEVEN treatment rooms, plus a laundry room, office, and a large lobby for classes and gatherings! The potential for this space is infinite.

The opportunity to open this business came to me in an organic and harmonious way, Essential Health and Wellness is the product of believing that everything happens for a reason and trusting that the universe would continue to provide and lead me down the right path.

Essential Health and Wellness is a space for connecting.

  • for individuals to connect with the services that they need to complement their health.
  • for practitioners to connect with each other and learn about different modalities for healing.
  • for individuals to connect with resources and information to make empowered and informed decisions about their health.
  • for practitioners to connect with clients to grow their practice.
  • for everyone to connect with what they need.

I am always looking to connect with entrepreneurs and other holistic care practitioners of all kinds. I love to get to know people, hear their stories, and explore how we can support each other through these crazy times.
