Green Living Festival at Missouri Botanical Garden
Local vendors, conversations and demos of green and sustainable options will fill the lovely grounds of the Kemper Center for Home Gardening on Saturday June 2, when the Green Living Festival returns to the Missouri Botanical Garden. Whatever your Green interests, you’ll find something useful and inspiring at this hands-on, day-long indoor/outdoor event. Hosted by the Garden’s EarthWays Center, the festival invites visitors of all ages and backgrounds to explore the links between sustainability, energy efficiency, conservation at home, and a healthy environment. Three Rivers Community Farm in Elsah, Illinois produces mixed vegetables for 300 CSA members on 12 acres of ground. Permaculture, which is permanent and agriculture combined, is a way of designing with nature in mind involving caring for the earth and people and sharing resources. Life Outside Festival
Great Rivers Greenway is set to kick off its third annual Life Outside Festival, June 9 from 10 am to 4 pm at Creve Coeur Lake Memorial Park (13236 Streetcar Drive, Maryland Heights, MO 63043. Free and open to the public, family friendly. Free Pickup and dropoff shuttles will run from the Hanley, Shrewsbury and Civic Center transit locations. This event encourages residents to spend less time on the couch and more time venturing outdoors. Events include active living, camping and hiking, climbing, cycling-mountain biking, nature & conservation, electric bicycles, paddling & water sports, running & walking, and Yoga/Mind and Body. 18th Annual Pond-O-Rama
The St. Louis Water Garden Society will present its 18th annual water garden and pond tour, Pond-O-Rama, Saturday, June 23 and Sunday, June 24 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. The 2018 tour has 33 private gardens owned and maintained by Society members. Tickets covering both days of the tour are $15 each and are available early May at retail shops and garden centers throughout the metropolitan area. Tickets will also be available on our website.
