Healthy “Life” Resources

Creating Healthy Holidays

The holidays are a time that can stir up allot of things. It is a time with heavy focus on family and special times for family to get together. There are many that the holidays just magnify their aloneness and lack of family connection. Depression can often increase during this time. The issue of love or the lack of gets really loud. The following are some tips to help you manage this time in a healthy way.

  1. Having Healthy Rituals. Take time to celebrate. Be creative. Introduce some new ways with friends and family…some new rituals in your life that can nurture you.
  2. Forgiveness. Carrying an unforgiving energy is very toxic to your being. We need to let go of things we cannot change. Spend some time resolving some issues of forgiveness in your life.
  3. Connection. Have a plan to bring a deeper connection to others in your life. Take the risk. You can do it!
  4. Love. The power that overcomes Fear, Guilt, Shame, Blame, and Anger is “LOVE”.
  5. Gratitude/Being Thankful. We need to count our blessings and all that we receive. Sometimes we can be so focused on the negative that we do not see all the good that is around us.
  6. Having a Higher View/Perspective. Take time to step back/avoid reacting….instead, seek a healthy response from your higher self.
  7. Acceptance. See it as it is. Accept life on life’s terms.
  8. Be Flexible. Go with the flow. Be less concerned about outcomes and stay focused on the moment.
  9. Personal Power. Don’t give it away! Be true to yourself. Don’t be a victim of what others do or say.
  10. Harmony and Balance. Create calmness and peace within your inner self. Let it keep you centered. Don’t surrender it.
  11. Trust Your Gut. Intuitive knowing… trust it!

During the holidays and the approach to a new year, make this a time for radicle change in your life. Take charge and use the gifts and talents that you have. My prayer for you is that God will open you to the wonderful power of healing that is within you.
