Irresistible Community Builders Presents: The Blind Venetian Cafe’ and Hostel at Culver Way Ecovillage!

By Tom & Carol Braford

The Blind Venetian will be one of the first charter businesses to open at Culver Way Ecovillage. The name comes from the fact that this fusion enterprise will be physically located on Olive Street directly under the portion of the original Art Craft Venetian Blind Manufacturing Company sign that includes those words, ‘Blind’ and ‘Venetian’.

The portion of the buildings housing the Art Craft Microbrewery will be behind the ‘Art Craft’ section of the sign. Pretty clever, eh? Stay tuned as more of the pieces of the Integral Urban Ecovillage opportunities puzzle are unveiled and look for an extended version of this article and updates on our blog at www.CulverWayEcovillage.com.

The Blind Venetian All In Fusion Enterprise will set the tone for the business that follow, operating under a charter where all the co-owners are actively engaged in causing the success of the overall Ecovillage and the surrounding neighborhood, City, region and ultimately civilization and the planet.

In other words we are looking for people who are willing to pour themselves fully into not just these enterprises, but all of life. Laggards and hangers on need not apply. If you would like to be part of creating something that will make a serious difference in your own life and in the lives of all those that will be positively impacted by your actions, please join us.

Suffice it to say that this all in fusion enterprise approach will result in a breakthrough in both the cost of housing and in owning a business, as well as in what is possible in community living.

And in true Ecovillage fashion, a 3-bedroom residential condo will be built out at the same time as the Blind Venetian business. This unit will have an optional direct first floor entry to the Blind Venetian, making it an ideal residence for co-op business owners interested in co-op living within a larger cohousing environment or for a family interested in owning and operating these two businesses in traditional live above the business manor.

To learn more about the Ecovillage, please join us on Saturday, September 17th, for our monthly tour and open house at 11:00, followed by a potluck lunch.
