Q: Are greens helpful in the detoxification process?
A: It is time to do some “Spring Cleaning” for your body. Greens are an excellent way to rid your body of unwanted toxins. Chlorella, algaes and cereal grasses help your body to detox. Chlorophyll is another good choice. It is a blood purifier and can help suppress bacterial growth. These greens also aid in tissue repair. Keep in mind that greens supply your body with mega nutrients and can help build a weakened immune system. Your liver will also appreciate these nutrients as it helps your body detox. You can get your greens in a powder form to make into a drink or smoothie, or you can get them in capsule form. There are also some really great multi-vitamins that contain greens. No matter how you take them, you are doing your body a great favor.

Q: Help! My allergies are out of control. What do I do?
All the leaves are coming out and all I do is sneeze. Most of the over the counter medication makes me drowsy. I would prefer to take something natural. Any suggestions?

A: Welcome to St. Louis! Many people say that St. Louis is the Allergy Capital of the World”. You might want to try a histamine blocker to prevent you from getting allergy symptoms. When we are exposed to substances such as pollen, dust, ragweed, mold, dust mites and pet dander, our mast cells release histamine and other inflammatory substances. These, in turn, cause mucus production, sneezing, coughing and itchy, watering eyes. We actually feel miserable. Stinging nettle and quercetin are both excellent antihistamines. Neither will sedate you nor cause dry-mouth.
If you need to relieve the symptoms of allergies, there are several options. Fennel reduces inflammation, increases the production of digestive fluids, and is a mild expectorant and antispasmodic. Fenugreek helps remove allergens from the respiratory tract. It loosens phlegm and helps calm coughs. If your throat and lungs are irritated, mullein can provide very soothing relief.
Of course, I always recommend using the Nasopure System, which will wash your sinuses. Nasal washing will reduce inflammation of the nasal passages, clear out allergens and allow you to breathe more freely.
