The month of January proved to be a wonderful month for Green. The St Louis Green Confluence, Bi-State Green Expo, Alive Launch, and the St. Louis Auto Show were all well attended and much was learned. Thanks to all that hosted these events.

St. Louis Cardinals Baseball starts on March 31 at home against the San Diego Padres. As I am huge fan of Baseball and Recycling the “4 a Greener Game” will be under way as well. The Cards program has increased many efforts at the ballpark. This year they will be working on composting and improving the recycling stream. Join us in helping the Cardinals reach their goal which is 40% diversion rate for their waste. On March 16th, Small Business Monthly will be hosting the St. Louis Business Expo at the St. Charles Convention Center from 11:am- 6:00pm. We have participated in this event for the last 3 years hosting the GREENZONE. The Zone is a special exhibitor section that consists of companies that can help others save money and have less impact on the Earth at the same time. So if it is something you want to learn more about please stop by!

The Growing Green Awards tickets are on sale, the event takes place on March 30 from 6:00-9:00pm at Neo on Locust. This year’s Growing Green Awards will also mark the Chapter’s 10-Year Anniversary. Keynote speaker Rick Fedrizzi, President & CEO of the national U.S. Green Building Council will help celebrate 10 Green Years & Still Building! Mark your calendars for the 22nd Annual St. Louis Earth Day Festival that will be held on Sunday, April 17, 2011 11am to 6pm in Forest Park on the Muny Grounds. They are seeking volunteers to help with the event, if you are interested in helping please visit www.stlouisearthday.org
