St. Louis VegFest Set For Oct. 13 at World’s Fair Pavilion In Forest Park

St. Louis Animal Rights Team (START) is hosting their second annual vegan festival this fall, VegFest. This one-day event attracts thousands of visitors not only from St. Louis, but from all around the country. St. Louis VegFest will highlight the ethical, health, and environmental aspects of a vegan lifestyle through inspirational speakers, cruelty-free merchandise, and delicious plant-based food.

Veganism is growing at an astounding rate as people are becoming more conscious about what happens to animals on slaughterhouses and factory farms. As vegans, we’ve all heard the sentence, “I would go vegan but I don’t know how…” and we all ended up saying “I wish I went vegan sooner.” And while we can have vegan potlucks in the park anytime, we really want to cater this festival towards non-vegans who have been thinking about making the switch. At this free-admission event people will have the chance to become educated about a vegan lifestyle and see just how easy it can be.

In addition to introducing this lifestyle to non-vegans, one of our goals is to provide a strong sense of community for the existing local vegans of St. Louis. The hardest part about being vegan isn’t finding out what to eat. The hardest part is facing the reality that we live in a non-vegan world and coping with the newfound truth that animal exploitation is everywhere, while struggling to make your family and friends understand. VegFest is an entire day where vegans won’t feel uncomfortable, where they don’t have to choose from a meat-heavy menu, and where they will meet literally thousands of other people just like them, and realize they are not alone. So whether you’re a kid who loves animals, a long time vegan, or someone who’s never heard of the word before, you’re invited and encouraged to come to VegFest.

The festival will be held Sunday, October 13, 2019 at The World’s Fair Pavilion in Forest Park, from 11:00 am-5:00 pm. This festival is made possible by all of our generous sponsors: Bombay Food Junkies, Carol House Furniture, The Gentle Barn, Republic Services, St. Louis Juice Press, The CBD Store, and A Well Fed World.

Be sure to save the date, come hungry, and get ready to try all the best vegan food St. Louis has to offer.
