The Birds and the Bees: Pollinators & Native Gardens

Summer Buggin’ Begins at the Butterfly House
With school officially out for summer, the Butterfly House has you covered when the kids get “buggy” and you all need to get out of the house. Escape to Summer Buggin’ at the Sophia M. Sachs Butterfly House! Summer Buggin’ runs from June 1 to Aug 31, featuring daytime and evening experiences for all ages. During the day, explore our exhibits using a special decoder to become a “nature sleuth,” get up close at a live animal encounter, sprout new knowledge at the Plant Outpost, and learn what makes fireflies glow. Special daily programming features of Summer Buggin’ include, for the first time in the Butterfly House’s 21-year history, daily butterfly releases at 2 p.m. The Butterfly House is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday-Sunday. Traditional American Crafts Artists On Display In Ste. Genevieve
How memorable would it be to hold a piece of silver made by Paul Revere in your own hands? Taking that moment a step further, what would you ask if you could actually chat with Mr. Revere about his work, or watch as he made that piece? Although such historical artisans are long-gone, you can meet contemporary artists whose names future generations may recognize at a special reception and show of Midwest artisans from the 2019 Directory of Traditional American Crafts.
