CBD Oil Hits the Shelves at Dierbergs
Dierbergs Markets announced recently that hemp-derived CBD Oil products are now available at all 25 Dierbergs locations.
CBD, short for Cannabidiol, is one of 100-plus naturally occurring phyto-cannabinoids found in hemp and all cannabis plant strains. While scientific research on its medicinal qualities is still in its infancy, there is mounting consumer interest in CBD as an alternative care option.
Dierbergs started rolling out the products in the spring and now carries items from leading national brands including Charlotte’s Web, Plus CBD Oil, RE Botanicals and Sagely Naturals.
“Customers were asking for CBD Oil,” said Ron Edelen, Dierbergs Non-Foods category manager. “The interest was significant enough that we felt it was time to bring the product in. Now we hear from customers who appreciate its availability in our stores.”
Sprays, drops, capsules, and softgels are among Dierbergs’ inventory of CBD products from these four brands. Products also include hemp-derived CBD Oil in balms, creams and other health-and-beauty aids as well as pet-friendly CBD, which is increasingly prescribed by veterinarians for the products’ purported calming effects on cats and dogs.
Edelen said that Dierbergs stores individually carry at least 35 distinct products merchandised in designated display cases for easy shopping and comparison. Agricultural hemp-derived CBD does not produce the psychoactive side effects often associated with other cannabis products and it is legal in all 50 states.
In addition to its availability in stores, customers can get same-day delivery from Dierbergs in as little as one hour through Shipt.
Dierbergs Now Offers Grocery Pickup at Stores
Dierbergs Markets announced recently that it is launching Curbside Pickup.
The new program, which started June 11, expands the partnership between Dierbergs and Shipt, the company’s partner for “Dierbergs Delivered Fresh” same-day delivery. Dierbergs customers now have the option to select “delivery” or “pickup” when placing an order in the Shipt app or on Shipt.com.
Shipt members can build a shopping list, select their preferred Dierbergs store for pickup, and drive to that location and park in a designated Curbside Pickup parking space. Shipt Shoppers take care of hand picking, bagging and loading the order into the customer’s vehicle in as soon as one hour, communicating with the member in real time every step of the way.
“Today’s lifestyles are very busy. It’s important that we give our customers easy, convenient and personalized ways to shop our stores,” said Andy Pauk, Dierbergs chief operating officer. “That means you can visit us in our stores; order online for delivery to your home, office, or even your kid’s soccer game; or now just pull up to our store and we’ll load up your groceries without you having to leave your car.”
New Shipt members can sign up for a $99 annual membership, which grants access to free, unlimited deliveries and Curbside Pickup on orders more than $35. New members will receive a 2-week free trial and can join by visiting Dierbergs.com/Shipt.
