Little Shop Around The Corner Offers Eclectic, Resale Treasures

by Amy Hoover

The Little Shop Around The Corner is an antique, vintage and fine collectible resale shop that benefits the Missouri Botanical Garden. The Little Shop is a “green” destination for high-quality furniture, artwork, vintage jewelry, silver, china, and other accent furnishings.

All items found in the Little Shop have been donated and because we receive donations from a broad area surrounding St. Louis daily, the shop’s inventory of unique and eclectic items changes dramatically. From Depression glass to vintage linens, mid-century modern chairs to crystal chandeliers and original oil paintings, it is always a feast for the eyes and a walk down memory lane.

Proceeds from the shop support the Garden’s research and educational objectives to preserve plant life, conserve resources, and slow the efforts of global climate change. In addition to helping to fund Missouri Botanical Garden projects, the Little Shop reinforces the Garden’s commitment to recycling. Shopping and donating goods are two great ways to support one of St Louis’ most beloved attractions.

If you wish to donate your cherished items or estate to the Missouri Botanical Garden, stop by 4474 Castleman Ave and drop your items off Tuesday through Saturday 10am-4pm. For larger items, please phone one of our staff or volunteers and schedule a pick up from your home, 314-577-0891.

We are located just around the corner from the Missouri Botanical Garden, at the intersection of Vandeventer and Shaw, in the Castleman circle. Look for our beautifully decorated windows stocked full of gorgeous vintage glassware and lovely stained glass. All donations are tax deductible, all purchases are tax free and Garden members receive a discount everyday.

Be sure to take advantage of the “Little Shop, Big Sale” event Mother’s Day weekend, May 11-13 that will be held in The Ridgeway Center’s Orthwein Hall in the main entrance to the Missouri Botanical Garden.
