Holiday Light Recycling

Last year, STLOUISGREEN.com’s Holiday Light Recycling Drive collected over EIGHT tons of holiday lights to recycle. That’s EIGHT TONS that stayed out of the landfill! This year we are hoping to recycle 25 TONS! Customers are encouraged to recycle old holiday lights and extension cords. All unworkable holiday lights, whether from your tree or outdoor decoration, can be brought to our store. The receptacle is located in our cafe.

Star Trek: The Exhibition

Appearing for the first time in St. Louis at the Saint Louis Science Center, Star Trek: The Exhibition brings 45 years of authentic Star Trek artifacts to life. While entertaining and delighting, Star Trek also foretold the world today: humans exploring other worlds, miracles of modern medicine and even the first cell phone.

Star Trek Trivia Contest
Plan to Attend Star Trek First Fridays! Put on your Spock ears and come to the Science Center on the first Friday evening of each month during the run of Star Trek: The Exhibition! In addition to touring the exhibition for a special evening rate, you can participate in a Public Telescope Viewing outside the Planetarium and see the new Star Trek-inspired Planetarium show. Learn more about how science fiction has inspired scientific endeavors. At 9 pm, gather in the Fizz Factory for music and then, at 10 pm head to the OMNIMAX® theater to view a Star Trek film. Nutrition and Weight Management Program Features Dietitian’s Best Tips
St. Anthony’s Medical Center will present an eight-week nutrition and weight management program titled “Newtritious You!” from 6 to 7 p.m. on Wednesdays, Jan. 11 through Feb. 29. Classes will be in the auditorium on the first floor of St. Anthony’s, 10010 Kennerly Road in south St. Louis County. Registered, licensed dietitians at St. Anthony’s will present the in-depth nutrition and weight management program, which focuses on lifelong healthy eating behaviors, rather than “a quick fix.” This program was developed by St. Anthony’s dietitians, medically recognized experts in nutrition, specifically for individuals ready to make positive changes toward a healthy lifestyle. Participants will receive: • an individualized meal plan with specific guidelines on what to eat. • the latest in nutrition research and recommendations on cholesterol, weight management, triglycerides, diabetes, high blood pressure, etc.. • tips on how to keep that motivation going.• exercise and fitness guidelines. • information on healthy cooking and what’s in a dietitian’s fridge. • tips on guilt-free dining out and much more.
