Federal Tax Credits For Energy Efficient Home Improvements End Dec. 31, 2010

By Travis Seeger

I cannot believe it is December already, where has this year gone?? I remember my grandparents and parents and the older generation in general telling me how fast time will go by as you get older, I really didn’t think that was possible. Literally, I know time doesn’t speed up, however, our perception sure does change. Those days become months and the months seem to FLY by. I don’t have an answer for this, just observation. But it does seem worth the moment to mention we are nearing the end of another year.

For the last couple of years we have been part of a Federal tax Credit program designed to incentivize people to spend a little extra money to save energy.  We have been very successful with this program and a majority of our customers have chosen to replace their equipment with the higher efficiency option. The best part about this is they receive this incentive and get to save on their energy bills for the life of the system.

As of December 31, 2010 the tax credits are slated to end. This program provides you with tax credits of 30% on some of the most energy efficient equipment you can get, and 15% on typical high-efficiency system upgrades and other energy saving services like attic barriers and insulation.

At this time there are also other non-dealer incentives from local utilities. This means we can save homeowners roughly $2,500.00 on the purchase of a new system.

It’s funny but in this time of economic uncertainty people would love an investment that is safe.  If you had the ability to put $10,000.00 into a fund that would increase your cash flow by 120.00 per month, or in other terms completely pay you back in about 7 years, then your $120.00 per month is free and clear.  Oh and by the way this is a tax free, investment. These numbers are based on the average 1600 sq. ft. home with 15 year old equipment.  MSN reported that the only money better spent on your home for the purpose of recuperation at time of sale is light kitchen/main bath remodel. So even if you are thinking about selling in a few years this is a very wise investment.

Right now, we’re trying to help as many people as possible take advantage of this program. It saves you money and it’s good for the environment.

Please call us at 636-532-5841 if you would like to take advantage of this program before it’s too late. We would also appreciate you becoming our “Fan” on Facebook.

I would like to take this time to thank all of our customers and associates for being a part of our lives. We genuinely appreciate the business you have awarded us and hope that we have met your expectations and look forward to a new and prosperous 2011.
