Home Eco Offers Textile Recycling

Beginning August, the third Saturday of the month will be Textile
Recycling day at Home Eco. The next event is September 20th - From 10:00 until 4:00, you can drop off all that hard-to-dispose-of, unwanted material, yard-goods, linens, worn-out and wearable clothing and textiles of all sorts.

The items will be separated and recycled by our local textile recycler, Remains Inc., in Tower Grove South. Remains accepts used clothing and household linens in any condition. Vintage clothes are separated out for resale, wearable clothes are sent to needy communities around the world, all-cotton fabrics are snagged for use in making paper, and other

textiles used to make insulation and stuffing. In addition to textiles,
Remains accepts paired shoes, purses, belts and backpacks that can be
reused. Shoes must be in pairs, and in wearable condition. No insulated boots, ice-skates, rollerblades, spikes or house slippers.

Clean out your closets and bring in all those old rags and ripped pillowcases, and rejoice that one more thing stays out of the landfill!
