Ben & Jerry’s
Adds Chocolates To Its Sweet Selection
By Heidi Schoen
Just thinking about going to the Kirkwood Ben and Jerry’s
Scoop Shop brings on a smile. It is not just the Chunky
Monkey, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and Cherry Garcia
ice cream. Sure, they get the gold metal in my ice cream
Olympics but now there is another tasty treat at the
Kirkwood Junction Scoop Shop – chocolate. Not
just any chocolate but locally produced by Bissingers
especially for Ben and Jerry’s chocolate. They
come in clusters, truffles and logs even a Chubby Hubby
chocolate pretzel! The flavors are Ben and Jerry’s
inspired such as Karamel Sutra, Phish Food, New York
Super Fudge Chunk and Dark Blueberry and Almond. The
only Scoop Shop you can buy this product in the St.
Louis region is at the Kirkwood Station location.
Ben and Jerry’s is a socially responsible business
placing a high value on quality and sustainability.
Their philanthropic initiatives are impressive and their
creamy products are one of the healthiest on the market
because they oppose recombinant Bovine Growth Hormone.
The hundreds of family farmers belonging to the St.
Albans Cooperative Creamery in St. Albans Vermont supply
the milk and cream to Ben and Jerry’s and they
pledge not to treat their cows with rBGH. A great place
to start reading about this topic is on the Ben and
Jerry’s website at http://www.benjerry.com/kirkwoodstation
Chocolate expresses all that is rich and good about life.
Lucky for St. Louis we do not need to travel far to find
it. The unique chocolate offerings at the Scoop Shop in
Kirkwood will make a welcome gift during the holidays,
Valentines Day, Mother’s Day and you get the idea,
anytime you want someone to say wow!
Our upcoming Indian summer in September is a premium time
to visit the Ben and Jerry’s Scoop Shops at the
Kirkwood Station, the Galleria and Busch Stadium.
