PROVIDES FOUNDATION FOR SATISFYING LIFE
At 42, Stacey Fraley likes the place she finds herself
these days, both professionally and personally, and she
recognizes that none of it would be possible without the
education she received at Fontbonne University. “I
was definitely a different person when I was finished,”
she muses. “I think my experience with Fontbonne
helped me pull together where I was going professionally.”
Fraley, an Oakville resident, graduated from Fontbonne
University in 1997 with a BBA. She turned to Fontbonne
OPTIONS for her MBA, graduating in 2000. She chose OPTIONS
for the convenient schedule and the way the courses are
delivered, one class at a time by professors who have
experience in their fields. “OPTIONS gives you
this great volume of information and then you get to go
out there and use it. And the program prepares you for
exactly what your work environment is going to be like.
You’re going to be working with a lot of different
people from different backgrounds and you have to figure
out how to communicate with them. That’s how the
real world works.”
Fraley is Director of Support Services for Kenneth Hall
Regional Hospital in East St. Louis and Touchette Hospital
in Centreville, Illinois. She also provides services for
Touchette Elderly Apartments and Archview Medical Center.
She manages the food and nutrition, gift shop, environmental
services, laundry and deli departments, leading a large
staff she enjoys working with. “I really
love what I do here,” says Fraley. “I like
to try and motivate them. I spend a lot of time, energy
and resources to help our staff grow.”
Fraley remembers how challenging it was to work, go to
school and raise a family. “The hardest part
was making sure you gave some time to your family. We
made Sunday family day. It’s a nice tradition that
we still keep today. Even back when I was trying to do
it all, I tried to do some of the other things I enjoyed,
like playing pool, and fishing and writing. It’s
important to keep the other parts of your life moving,
too. Now I’m doing the grandma thing, and enjoying
it all. And my education gave me the foundation to do
all of this.”
Fontbonne University has been a provider of high-quality
educational programs for more than 80 years. With its
main campus located in Clayton, the university has also
established OPTIONS classroom sites in North County, South
County, Chesterfield, Downtown, and now Fenton.
