MOVEMENT
IS THE ESSENCE OF LIFE
By Sensei Dave Beardsley
With winter months rapidly approaching, many will soon
be making New Year’s resolutions. A common one
is “I’m going to get in shape”. Like
most resolutions, the effort put into them tends to
fade pretty quickly after the holiday season. In the
quest to live a longer and healthier life, many people
will turn to supplements, herbal remedies and other
forms of complementary medicine as an easy fix. I support
holistic health practices completely, but MY choice
for improving and extending life won’t be found
solely in a bottle or a pill.
It is a remedy that requires no additional studies
to prove its effectiveness. What is this miracle? Exercise!!
All that is required is a lifestyle change!
Let’s face it, we can’t completely prevent
our bodies from aging. As we age, it is known that the
body will lose strength. When we lose our strength and
fitness, we can lose autonomy, often having to depend
on others to accomplish what we desire. As you’ve
heard before, “if you don’t use it, you’ll
lose it.” A personal fitness trainer should have
the goal to give YOU life fitness skills that you will
always feel good about and can be used forever. The
advantage to choosing a one-on-one training coach is
that you have one person completely focused on YOUR
needs and YOUR abilities. It is well known that this
type of support is so important to maintaining the personal
resolve to stay in the great physical condition.
My system of exercise is based on 30+ years of martial
arts and fitness training. The aspect that sets this
system apart is the use of self-defense training, martial
arts/boxing drills, cardio and free weights. Did you
know that weight-lifting is one of the fastest-growing
U.S. fitness activities (and fully endorsed by the American
Heart Association)? Our workout program is strategically
developed to make the workout be extremely fun, active,
and produces the best results in the shortest time.
A background of very diverse training helps me bring
this program to you.
If you want to have the best possible jump start on fitness,
try a personal trainer. Your biggest hurdle is just deciding
to make fitness a priority. We bring athletic skills to
your growing fitness program; but even more importantly,
you will gain a trainer who pushes you to be your personal
best! Learn more at www.SenseiDave.net
