Little Fishes Swim School:
A Healthier Way to Learn To Swim
by Coach Ruthie Zarren, ASCA, ALTST, CPO
After my son was born, I saw a need for a nurturing,
healthy place for children to learn to swim. I wanted
a place where parents could spend time and bond with
their babies, and children could develop a foundation
for a lifetime of safe swimming. So a year ago, I opened
Little Fishes Swim School to provide personalized swim
instruction in a healthy environment, where children
would thrive.
Little Fishes is able to nurture our students with
small classes (no more than five children) that address
the needs of each child, individually. Our curriculum
is developmentally appropriate and fun. Our staff has
childcare or education backgrounds, as well as, experience
with swim instruction. Our goal is to discover what
motivates each of our swimmers and help them progress.
We have an indoor salt water pool, which is healthier
for young lungs, gentler on delicate skin, and better
for our environment. This type of sanitation system
keeps the water clean and safe without the harsh feel
and smell of chemicals. The salt is barely noticeable,
because the concentration is 90% less than sea water.
In addition, our pool is kept at 90 degrees, which is
similar to bath water. This temperature helps children
relax and feel more comfortable.
Little Fishes has classes for infants and toddlers,
beginners and more accomplished swimmers. We offer lunchtime
exercise classes and year round Pool Parties for all
ages. We are now enrolling our Winter Session which
begins on January 12th at 8200 Brentwood Industrial
Drive (rear entrance), Brentwood MO 63144. Due to the
small size of our classes, they fill quickly, so call
314-647-SWIM for more information.

we provide a fun, loving and healthy swimming environment
for your child.
