Our Green Building Community — Building Healthy, Efficient and Equitable Buildings and Communities — Invites You to Join this Virtual Town Hall Event Sept. 8

By Fredericka Brandt, USGBC-Missouri Gateway Chapter, Volunteer & Outreach Coordinator

A lot has changed over the past few months that is impacting our daily lives, but one thing has not: sustainability and resiliency are still at the core of building healthy, efficient and equitable buildings and communities. The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), founded in 1993, consists of 56 communities in 43 states and provinces where thousands of people are committed to the vision that buildings and communities will regenerate and sustain the health and vitality of all life within a generation. Healthy people in healthy places equals a healthy economy.

The USGBC Community consists of one integrated network of local, regional, and national leaders. We are all leaders with different attributes that can, and do promote a greener, more resilient and prosperous future. Join our community and attend the virtual Town Hall event Tuesday, September 08, 2020 from 9:00am – 11:00 am. Registration is free for all attendees! On the second Tuesday of September we will be focusing on 4 of our 56 USGBC communities; USGBC Central Plains, USGBC Iowa, USGBC-Missouri Gateway, and USGBC Nebraska Flatwater.

This engaging virtual event on September 8th features an address from USGBC’s President & CEO, Mahesh Ramanujam. Mahesh Ramanujam leads a community of 13 million people that’s growing every day through transformative thought programs, partnerships, and initiatives. Ramanujam believes that sustainable living is not just about the physical building and rebuilding of our communities, but ultimately about our willingness to reimagine the way we treat each other.

This Town Hall is an opportunity to hear about Mahesh’s vision for the future of USGBC and hear updates from our Central Plains, Iowa, Nebraska Flatwater, and Missouri Gateway communities. We will dive specifically into how USGBC’s Living Standard campaign provides an important storytelling platform for creating a better world. This campaign collects and shares stories that prove anyone has the power to make a measurable impact on the quality of life of everyone around us. Share your ideas and thoughts as a leader in your community. You have the power to make a positive impact and the USGBC-Missouri Gateway Chapter is here to support your green leadership.

Let’s come together and help each other by sharing our best practices and our resilient behaviors within our local communities. Grab a cup of coffee and join us! There will be plenty of time for questions and dialogue from the audience. Our vision for the future is stronger than ever. The global foundation for sustainability that we have cemented in place is indestructible.

Join us for U.S. Green Buildings Council’s Town Hall Meeting with Mahesh Ramanujam; learn, listen, and contribute to prioritizing health and wellness to create a better quality of life for ourselves and future generations – Tuesday, September 8th, 2020 from 9:00 – 11:00 am.
