Sam ‘s Vegan Kitchen Heats Up

Sam Buettner’s baking journey began at a young age, watching her mother and other family members cook and bake in the kitchen. She went from box mixes to creating from scratch desserts, cupcakes and cakes. After developing health issues, Sam transitioned to a plant-based diet and vegan life-style. The love of good food that you can feel good about eating, is something that drives Sam to continue to create new flavors and treats. Last year, Sam moved out of her home kitchen and into The Creative Cookery, a shared commercial kitchen. With the help of friends, family, customer and the vegan community, Sam was then able to move into a shared storefront at The Bakers Hub. This unique bakery allows 10 local bakers to share a space and have the opportunity to showcase their items. Sam has also participated in several events and markets in the St. Louis area including St. Louis Vegfest, Taste of Vegan Fest STL, Kirkwood and Wildwood Farmers Markets.

When Sam isn’t baking, she is working as a substance abuse counselor at a local treatment center. She is a licensed professional counselor and is an advocate for mental health and substance abuse awareness. She hopes that you enjoy her treats as much as she enjoys baking for others.
