Missouri Botanical Garden Glow 2015, Holiday Light Exhibit.
Visitors will have the opportunity to stroll through the Garden at night as they are surrounded by unique lighting installations throughout the grounds. Open 5 – 9:30 pm Nov. 21 through Dec. 17. $16 adults (ages 13 and older), $12 members, $10 children (ages 3 to 12), $6 member children. Open nightly from Dec. 18 to Jan. 2 from 5-9:30 p.m. $18 adults (ages 13 and older), $14 members, $10 children (ages 3 to 12), $6 member children. Springfield Coal Ash Landfill

They look at the consequences of heavy metals from the ash contaminating drinking water. The site has a high likelihood of a catastrophic collapse.

Mosby’s 2nd Annual Stuff the Truck Toy Drive
From now until December 12th, Mosby is collecting new toys for patients at St. Louis Children’s Hospital at their Kirkwood office (645 Leffingwell Avenue). A Stuff the Truck drop-off box is in the Mosby lobby, and every toy donated receives a raffle ticket for assorted prizes. The Stuff the Truck event at Mosby on December 12, 2015 from 10am – 2pm will be a family-friendly event. With a toy donation, children will receive a digital photo with Santa Claus; there will be a live 97.1 FM broadcast of Right At Home With Rich Oris; food trucks will be on site, including soup and sandwiches from The Meltdown. “Last year, we collected over 1,000 toys, and while unloading our company box truck at the St. Louis Children’s Hospital, the staff was pleasantly shocked,” said Mosby Client Services Representative and toy drive event coordinator, Noel Powers. “The staff gave us a behind-the-scenes tour to show how the toys are used, and right then and there we knew we wanted to contribute even more. Missouri Ballet Theatre presents The Nutcracker

Karst in the Ozarks
Airs on KNLC Channel 24 12/19 at noon and KNLC Renewable Energy Channel Channel 24-2 12/21 at 8:00 p.m. Karst areas are formed when limestone-based sedimentary rock is dissolved underground. This creates caves, springs, sinkholes and losing streams. Don Fitz and guest Denise Vaughn discuss how karst areas can easily be polluted. Karst geology also creates many popular Ozark destinations. In Missouri, this includes Jack’s Fork River, Greer Spring, Grand Gulf and Tumbling Creek Cave. More than 800 people got sick when the West Plains sewage lagoon drained into the groundwater. This was due to the karst geological formation which dominates southern Missouri.
