It’s that time of year again. Christmas is upon us, and this year will be a very new experience for me. Last year at this time I was just finding out I was pregnant, and this year I have a beautiful, healthy 4-month-old little boy. He is the light of my life, and I can’t wait to spend this holiday season with both mine and my husband’s family swooning over him and enjoying his first Christmas together. It is sure to be magical, except of course for the Christmas shopping. If you are anything like me, finding the perfect gift for the people in your life is no small task. Everyone is very picky these days and there are so many things to choose from.
When shopping for the busy new parent in your life, there are a few really good options. I stopped by Verde Kids to see what kind of cuddly winter clothes they had to offer. I found a lot. My favorite being some amazing stay-on mittens made by Cozy Tots that are perfect for these cold rainy days we’ve been having lately. While I was there, I realized they have some amazing gift ideas right there in their cozy shop. For moms they have these amazing unique bracelets handmade in Brazil. They are stylish, come in every color you can imagine and 6 bracelets purchased = 1 day’s care for a child in the “Empire des Enfants” a center for homeless children in Dakar Senegal. What more could you ask for?
Now let’s not forget about the real people we shop for, our kids! Verde Kids offers so many choices perfect for the kid of any age. They have everything from handmade Hats from “Pocket full of Poseys” (Jackson’s looks like a Viking hat!), to one of a kind onsies, to anything you could need for your teething baby, the most popular being “Sophie the Giraffe”. She is a widely known teething toy for kids, and everyone I know with a teething baby swears by it. They say her legs are the perfect size for babies to grip, and the 100% natural rubber (derived from the Hevea tree) is a perfect combination of soft and durable. People like it so much it almost makes me excited for Jackson to start teething… almost.
The truth is, whatever you get someone, they are sure to love it just because it’s from you… but I think that giving can feel even better if the gift gives back or is handmade and you can support their endeavor.
