Acupressure Massage For Better Health

Acupressure is an ancient healing art using the fingers to gradually press key healing points, which stimulate the body’s natural self-curative abilities. The pressure to the key points of the body alleviates the buildup of toxins in our tissues that cause stiffness in the body which encourages the body to undergo natural self-healing, such as releasing tension, allowing good blood circulation and balancing the body’s energy, all of which strengthens resistance to disease and promotes wellness.

Yue Ma, of Yue Ma Massage, specializes in Acupressure Massage and combines other techniques such as Deep Tissue Massage, Hot Stones, Japanese Shiatsu, Swedish Relaxation, Reflexology and more. Her philosophy is “The body is like a River. Everything is connected.”

Beth Wasserstrom, an Occupational Therapist and client of Yue Ma, says “I have been going to Yue Ma for about a year and a half. I have played sports my entire life and was looking for someone who could be a long-term partner in helping me stay healthy and injury-free. As an Occupational Therapist, I have seen repeatedly how an individual who has had an injury in one part of their body, like a hip or knee, can in turn, quickly have secondary problems in their neck or shoulders as a result of how they carry their body. I never have to tell Yue Ma where I might be tender or aching, she always finds the spot and focuses on the other muscles and joints that influence that area. I usually come to her office every three to four weeks and I have had only one small cold in the 18 months I have been seeing her, when normally I would get several colds a year. She has great pride in her business and truly cares about her clients. She works hard to fit people in when it is convenient and sees clients 7 days a week and even most holidays. It is reassuring, because earlier this year, I strained my neck during a tennis class and she saw me a few hours later. I would have been miserable all weekend! She texted me the next day to make sure I was feeling better. I have only the best things to say about Yue Ma and the benefits I have received since starting treatments with her.”
