Suffer from Bursitis, Tendonitis, TMJ, Plantar Fasciitis or other soft tissue conditions? New treatments you may want to try!

by Dr. Paul Hyland

Chiropractic is typically associated most closely with back pain, neck pain and headaches. Most of our patients are shocked to find out that we can also effectively treat many other conditions from plantar fasciitis to carpal tunnel syndrome without surgery. How is this possible? With the innovation of new therapies, soft tissue injuries and inflammatory conditions are now easier to treat in less invasive manors. In our office we utilize a combination of Deep Tissue Cold Laser Therapy, Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM), Active muscle release techniques, and massage. Each of these techniques works in their own unique way to enhance the tissues recovery.

Deep Tissue Cold Laser Therapy is the use of a therapeutic wavelength of light to stimulate a change at the cellular level to provide pain relief, reduce inflammation, and speed tissue repair. A class 4 laser can penetrate up to 4 inches into the skin making even the deepest of muscle injuries accessible. This kind of therapy is great for sports injuries as well as chronic or acute inflammatory conditions such as plantar fasciitis, tendonitis, bursitis, TMJ or arthritis.

Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) is therapy that uses special tools to break down scar tissue and muscle adhesions that can cause reduced motion and function that often leads to pain and inflammation. These therapies are great for sports injuries, scar tissue, stubborn trigger points, plantar fasciitis, and frozen shoulder.

Manual myofascial release is a hands on approach to diagnosing and treating adhesions and aberrant motion within a muscle, tendon, or tissue surrounding a nerve. Once an adhesion is found the physician pins the adhesion using their hands and then moves the muscle or tissue under their pressure to release the area. This technique is very effective in treating conditions such as repetitive stress injuries, golfer’s elbow, tennis elbow, IT band syndrome and more.

But don’t take our word for it. Here’s what our patients have to say:
“I was diagnosed with Bells Palsy. After everything I read and from what my primary told me I thought I would have to suffer through weeks or months before I was back to normal. However, with cold laser therapy, the paralysis and side effects were gone after four treatments in less than two weeks from the onset. I was amazed that I started to see results within a few hours of my first treatment. I would and have recommended this therapy!”

“For many years now, I have suffered with fibromyalgia, protruding disk, and plantar fasciitis. I have tried many treatments over the years with mild results. Dr. Hyland and Dr. Floarke’s complete program using a combination of adjustments, traction, laser and IASTM has given my life back.”
