We live in a quantum world. Scientific American said so. The February 2012 Scientific American issue asked, “Is the Universe digital? Space of the Universe may not be smooth and continuous. Instead it may be digital, composed of tiny bits according to astrophysicist Craig Hogan. He believes that the world is fuzzy and assumed that these bits are far too small to measure with current technology.”
A quantum experiment is being conducted at the University of Chicago Fermilab Particle Astrophysics Center outside of Chicago. It will attempt to measure the intimate connections among information, matter and space-time. At the same time, a team of physicists and engineers are trying to detect theoretical Higgs boson particle, the holy grail of quantum physics, at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), the world’s most powerful particle accelerator outside of Geneva. Why does this research matter?
Quantum Physics is as relevant to modern biology and medicine as the theoretical Higgs boson particle is for the theoretical physicist. Quantum physics might explain the phenomenon of spontaneous healing. Although Quantum Physics is not within my professional area, I have been fascinated how quantum physics has changed the way we look at the world, Cosmos and microcosm of the universe. I have explained in my short articles, “New Medicine Based on New Biology” and “Disappearance of the Universe as we know it for WIMPs” how quantum physics applies to all living systems.
We are living in the quantum world and quantum medicine is a new reality. Inspired after reading “The Cosmic Code: Quantum Physics as the Language of Nature” by theoretical physicist, Heinz R. Pagels, Ph.D., I am convinced that if Quantum Physics is the language of nature, then Acupuncture Meridians is a language of nature.
In that context, I need to clarify the important, frequently asked question from my patients and their families,“What is your success rate?”
My typical response has been and always will be, I don’t know. Without evaluating the patient, I have no idea. The next question follows, “Have you seen a case like mine?” My usual answer is “You are it! There is no one like you on this planet with almost seven billion people, and there are no statistics to guide or misguide you. You create your own variable for success or failure.”
Not satisfied with my answer, a few minutes later another question comes forth with a sarcastic voice, “You are a doctor and you should know your success rate!” By then I am ready to squeeze the vocal cord of the person if he or she asks me one more time, “What is your success rate?”
Quantum physics is based on Heisenberg’s Uncertainty Principle and Bohr’s Principle of Complementarity which became known as the “Copenhagen interpretation of quantum mechanics.” Heisenberg’s Uncertainty Principle does not apply to a single measurement on a single particle. Quantum theory does not predict individual events as classical theory would.
The first point is that quantum reality is statistical, not certain, kind of fuzzy. The second point is that quantum reality is in part an observer-created reality. No phenomenon is real phenomenon until it is the observed phenomenon. Finally, with quantum theory, human intention influences the structure of the world.
In the quantum world, we wake up in the morning and the world exists much as you left it the night before. But the Copenhagen interpretation maintains that its actual state of existence depends in part on how we observe it and what we choose to see. It implies that the objective reality must be replaced by the observer-created reality. The material world that we know of simply does not exist in the quantum world until we actually observe it.
Going back to the original question to “What is your success rate?” l still don’t know. Statistically, 10-15 percent of patients will drop out within one to two visits for various reasons such as, “His evaluation is too weird and does not make any sense at all. He is not listening to me. I said I have a migraine headache and knee pain and he would prescribe parasite medications or he recommends removing a tooth for my asthma”, and more.
Whether you will respond to my therapy is based on my ability to map out the energy flow (meridians) of your body. Acupuncture Meridian Assessment (AMA) gives informational clues as what is wrong with a patient and what can be done for that particular disturbed meridian. Understanding the acupuncture meridians is like re-learning a forgotten language of our bodies.
If quantum physics is the basis of the language of nature, the language of nature does not understand the meaning of “What is your success rate?” We live in a Newtonian physical world but we also exist in a quantum world. We create our own reality of healing when we wake up every morning. It is up to you. Your thought, belief, sub-conscious mind, intention, and actions are the basis of spontaneous healing. Uncertainty is your quantum reality. Let the acupuncture meridian be a new guide (language) for your spontaneous healing.
